Senior Project Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

This position performs a variety of estimating, administrative, and clerical functions in support of the Project Managers. Responsibilities include project management assistance, subcontractor relations, reporting, takeoffs, and correspondence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in construction, administration, business or equivalent in experience

Experience

  • Five years’ experience in construction, estimating, landscape construction experience required.

Licenses or Certifications

  • As required by state and federal law
  • Valid driver license issued by the state were employed

Specialized Skills

  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, OST or similar Take-Off software and other applicable software as required
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects independently and simultaneously
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and customer service focused
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have excellent phone and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and assume responsibility to carry out all assignments in a proficient and professional manner
  • Ability to handle unexpected projects and demonstrate willingness to help others
  • General plant, irrigation, construction, and drainage knowledge
  • General knowledge of material
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Support Project Managers.
  2. Analyze plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare material lists.
  3. Review, identify and detail revisions to project plans and specifications.
  4. Process, document, quantify and manage communication for revisions, change orders, addendums, and new plans.
  5. Track plan revisions / RFQ’s and follow up on subcontractor pricing as required
  6. Administer and file communications with general contractors and architects.
  7. Send plans and specifications to subcontractors as required.
  8. Process, send out, and track quote requests for site furnishings, subcontractors, plant materials.
  9. Assist in communication of project information to field superintendents as required
  10. Review and be familiar with contracts, plans & scope of work on assigned projects
  11. Maintain RFI & Change Order Logs
  12. Work with Purchasing Department to ensure plant materials, site furnishing, and long lead time or specialty items are ordered and delivered in a timely manner
  13. Coordinate and track communication with subcontractors
  14. Assist in management of subcontracts, change orders, RFI’s, billings, revisions, close­outs & warranty letters from subcontractors
  15. Assist with Submittal process: Compile, document, submit, follow up and update log.
  16. Coordinate site furnishing submittals, procurement and delivery with purchasing and field.
  17. Work with Purchasing Department to manage long lead items
  18. Manage close out coordination: As-builts, warranty letters, etc.

Please note that the salary information shown below is provided in compliance with state specific laws. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations, and therefore may be different in other locations or operating divisions.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $90,000
