Snow Plow Driver

JOB SUMMARY: Respond to on-call situations during weather incidences which require snow removal by vehicle and large equipment. Responsible for the installation of enhancement projects.

Temporary Assignment/ Seasonal Position: Assignment duration may last through April 2024.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

  • 1-3 years snow removal experience

License or Certification

  • Valid driver’s license issued by the state where employed is strongly preferred
  • Commercial driver’s license (for operation of vehicles over 26,000 lbs)
  • Insurable driving record

Specialized Skills

  • Knowledge of snow remove equipment and safe operation standards, including but not limited to large loading equipment, trucks, and ATVs.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks
  • Deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Ability to communicate in English preferred
  • Ability communicate effectively with team members and manager
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
  • Strong commitment to high quality of work and customer service
  • Ability to complete tasks assigned in a timely manner

  1. Constantly required to drive a vehicle independently, during all times of day and night, and in inclement weather conditions
  2. Constantly required to talk, hear, see, and sit
  3. Occasionally required to stand and walk
  4. Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus
  5. Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
  6. Frequently required to twist, climb and balance on surfaces that may be elevated, narrow and/or slippery
  7. Occasionally required to reach, bend, and crouch
  8. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Mid to high level stress. Fast-paced work environment.
  • Frequent to constant erratic and extended work hours, depending on seasonal necessity
  • Constant evaluation and adjustment of priorities
  • Frequently works with mechanical objects and outside in extreme weather conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Occasionally exposed to loud noise levels

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Safely operate vehicles and large equipment to remove snow from client sites or city streets, including but not limited to ATVs, trucks, tandem axle trucks, and Skidsteers.
  • Shows up to work each day on time; completes all tasks within time expectations; adheres to company dress code policy; wears clean clothes to work each day; follows inclement weather policy and sick leave reporting procedures.
  • Promote and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay range: $37.00
